Your support worker should always prioritise your autonomy, dignity, and well-being, promoting your independence and self-determination to the fullest extent possible.
Your support worker should never be on their phone unless it's an emergency or if their manager is trying to contact them. They are not there to criticize, yell or make fun of you. Nor are they there to be impatient, scolding or demeaning towards you.
It is expected your support worker is not to express or press their own religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, or personal opinions during their active hours of supporting you.
What they can do for you.... personal care - household tasks - emotional support - assistance with mobility - transportation - skill development - relationship building - community engagement - support to find employment opportunities - capacity building - empowerment
